Camper Living Full Time

As some of you may know and some of you may not know, my family and I have been full time camper living since July. In July, my husband got a job offer that we could not pass up and it was a traveling job. We had the choice of him going out of town for 2 weeks at a time and only be home for 2 days and staying in a hotel or we could go with him. We decided that we wanted to be together, especially since he just returned from a deployment where he was gone pretty much my whole pregnancy and didn’t return until our son was almost 3 months old (he left July 2020 and came back March 2021). So the best option for our family was going with him, we bought a camper and packed our whole life in it. My husband, son and I and our two small dogs. We did it all in just 2 days and came to Nashville, TN for the first job. We were there until the end of September, then we drove to Charlotte, NC where we are now. Living full time in a camper is not bad at all for us. We have a new 2021 Alpha Wolf camper, it has the master bedroom, bathroom, living room with a couch that makes a bed, u-shaped dinette table that also makes a bed if we need, has a walk in pantry, bigger fridge than most, and we have a bunk room that has some storage and 2 full size bunks. We are going to strip out the bunk room to make it an actual bedroom for our 10 month old son. Babies have a lot of stuff and even though we watch what we get for him, it still piles up. So with Christmas coming up and his first birthday in January we are definitely needing to do some renovations for his bedroom.

If anybody has ideas or similar experiences I would love to hear it! I would love to find some other families that are full time camper living as well and would love to share stories and helpful tips! I am currently trying to figure out where I am going to put our little 4-foot Christmas tree so my son leaves it alone. He currently will not leave anything alone so this should be fun!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!

  1. Tips for renovations! Most stuff it either glued ir nailed down so it isnt too bad to rip out if you know how to patch up any damage. Any random “boxes” like benches and stuff are usually covering a hole for pipes or wires. Anything you bring in to replace what you take out make sure you still have plenty of storage options and its lightweight. If you’re on a slide out definitely beware of weight and invest in slide out jacks. And measure your space at least 5 times before buying stuff. Nothing ever fits like its supposed to. ❤️ Glad you guys are doing okay.

  2. We moved into a 2013 Aljo camper in January, almost yep years ago. We love it, but we are on our own property with a shed beside us. The storage building shed has a washer, dryer, freezers & a full time shower. I guess we kind of cheat a bit, but I’m very thankful for it. Lol.

    1. We love being full time, it definitely has its challenges but it allows for much quality time with family. I plan on posting more on here now that the holiday craziness is over! I hope you follow my blog to watch how we renovate our rig! Thanks for the comment! 😊
